Lombok Pumice for Adsorption of Fe2+ Metal Ions Using Activation Temperature Variations

نویسندگان

چکیده

Fe is a heavy metal that often found in water. If the level exceeds maximum limit and continuously consumed, it will cause various kinds of diseases so method needed can reduce Fe2+. In this study, Fe2+ ion adsorption was carried out using pumice which aims to determine characteristics include surface area, density porosity, ability, contact time required absorb ions. The used batch method, with activation treatment for each adsorbent. Activation done by heating at temperature variation 250o, 400o, 550oC. results showed highest capacity activated powder 550oC characteristic area 8.196 m2/g, porosity 12.722% 2.374 gr/cm3 best 60 minutes absorption efficiency 86.4%

Kinetic study of heavy metal ions removal from aqueous solutions using activated pumice stone

Background: The presence of heavy metals in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems causes harmful effects to living organisms in the environment. This research aimed to determine the potential of activated pumice stone (APS) as a sorbent for the removal of Cd, Cu, and Zn from wastewater. Methods: This research was conducted during 2013 on a laboratory scale. The study was performed using batch exp...

Adsorption of metal ions on bed sediments

The adsorption of lead and zinc ions on bed sediments of the River Kali in western Uttar Pradesh, India, has been studied. The role of the coarser sediment fraction (210-250 jtm) in controlling metal pollution has been elucidated and compared to those of the clay and silt fractions. The parameters controlling metal uptake, viz., solution pH, sediment dose, contact time, and particle size have b...

Adsorption of metal ions on lignin.

This study investigated the adsorption of the heavy metal ions Pb(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), and Ni(II) on a lignin isolated from black liquor, a waste product of the paper industry. Lignin has affinity with metal ions in the following order: Pb(II)>Cu(II)>Cd(II)>Zn(II)>Ni(II). The adsorption kinetic data can be described well with a pseudosecond-order model and the equilibrium data can be fi...
